Essential Oil and Menopause

When a woman goes through the stage of menopause she is faced with a lot of changes. Some of these changes are physical changes, like insomnia, headaches, and hot flashes. Other changes are more emotional.

Aromatherapy can help you with these changes. While it can't stop them entirely from happening, they can help. Symptoms vary with different women, and the intensity of the symptoms are different as well.

Essential oils are a natural way to help your mood. There are a lot out there that can help you out with whatever symptom you are struggling with. You will respond differently depending on the oil you choose to go with.

One oil, lavender, is used a lot. It has calming abilities and can be used for headaches. However, some people don't like lavender and choose to go with another oil instead.

Do a little experimenting and see what oils you respond best to. You can even try incorporating a few different types of oils at the same time. One of my favorite remedies for hot flashes is a few drops of clary sage and lavender.

Be sure to talk to your aromatherapist or doctor before using them, however. Essential oils can be very strong. If you put too many drops in, or do not dilute it enough, they can produce negative effects. You don't want to combine too many oils together. Just one or two is best.

There are several recommendations of oils to use more menopause. The most popular are lavender and German chamomile. Other good choices are rose, patchouli, frankincense, and sandalwood.

You don't have to dread menopause. There are natural, safe ways to help you through that time in your life. Using natural products, like essential oil, is important because your body won't be assaulted with chemicals and drugs that can leave a negative effect on your body and hormones.
