Organic Essential Oil Production

Organic essential oils are liquid product that is taken from plants and herbs. They are used in a variety of products. Some of these products include perfumes, incense, cosmetics, detergents, and fabric softeners.

Essential oils have been known to be used since the days of Egypt. Early Egyptians used essential oils for cosmetics, perfumes and also for embalming their dead. Most organic essential oils have their name taken from the plant material they are taken from.

A lot of essential oils are taken through distillation. Distillation is the process of steaming the oil out of plants. It separates liquids with the help of vapor pressure.

Some essential oils are harder to extract. These types of oils are usually very expensive because of the difficulty involved with getting the oil. The more complicated the process, the more expensive the essential oil will be.

A few examples of essential oils that had difficult extraction processes are jasmine and rose oil. Both have to undergo a complicated distillation process of being washed in super critical carbon dioxide or hexane. Then they extract a mixture of essential oils derived from the process called concrete.

The concrete, or mixture taken from the process, has to go under another phase of distillation. This time an alcohol-based product needs to be used. The concrete has to be distilled to separate the absolute essential oil product of jasmine or rose oil.

Organic essential oils can affect your body, which make them a popular, natural medicine. They are also known to help calm emotions and stimulate the senses. They can have strong, aromas that work with fragrance and aromatherapy.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, of essential oil products available. Each essential oil has strengths and specific things that it can be used for. Some essential oils are multi-purpose essential oils that can be used for quite a few different things. These types of oils are very handy in first aid kits and to keep around the home.
