Lemongrass Essential Oil: Multipurpose Maverick

The beauty of essential oils is not always that they are good for any one thing, but that one oil can be used for a myriad of purposes with equal effectiveness. This is most definitely the case with lemongrass essential oil. It is equally as good as an insect repellant as it is a sore muscle rub or tissue regenerator. It clears athlete’s foot because of its powerful antifungal properties, and can be put in the diffuser to stave off colds and freshen the room. Needless to say, lemongrass is a multi-use maverick, perfectly suited for your private label needs.

As an anti aging skin care essential oil, lemongrass mainly serves to regenerate tissue and tighten saggy skin. It is thus a great oil to use in your private label skin care formulations and is best used a bit diluted because it also increases circulation to the face, which may initially lead to some redness. However, this is a good thing! Adequate circulation is absolutely necessary to have a glowing and healthy complexion, and what better way to achieve an irresistible glow than by using such a deliciously exotic oil as lemongrass?

Lemongrass has an almost intoxicating aroma that smells of sweet citrus, minus the slight bitterness of real citrus oils like lemon or grapefruit. As a natural perfume it is absolutely lovely and lends an exotic edge to those who wear it. An added bonus is that lemongrass keeps the bugs away and is used in aromatherapy as an antidepressant, so wearing it not only keeps you bug free and smelling good, but you feel good too!

As an antifungal agent, lemongrass really does work wonders. If you live in a wet and mold-prone environment, using lemongrass essential oil to clean your home is a fabulous idea. It also helps to fortify the immune system, so using it in the diffuser is an easy way to make your house smell good, help keep the fungus away, and stave off that cold you could have sworn was on its way.

These days, it makes life easier and frees up your time and energy to have something like lemongrass essential oil on hand. Give it it’s rightful place in your cupboard, and grab it any time you need to clean, make the room smell better, or bring yourself up out of an emotional rut. And of course, include it in your private label skin care products for an exotic anti aging boost.
