dry sensitive skinIrritated skin is not happy skin. It’s a sign that something’s wrong. Maybe it’s an allergy, maybe you brushed up against something extra scratchy, or maybe you’re using something in your skincare that your skin doesn’t like. While it can take some time to figure out what it is that’s making your skin act out, break out, and freak out, there are some private label skincare solutions you can use right now to bring some calm back into your complexion.

If the irritation you are experiencing is on the itchy, scratchy, eczema-ish side of the spectrum, rubbing in a few drops of peppermint essential oil that’s been diluted with a carrier such as Coconut oil will add instant cooling, soothing relief. Because the peppermint is diluted it won’t be too harsh to use on the skin, and by diluting it with an oil such as Coconut the natural antibacterial and antifungal properties of the Coconut will help to mitigate anything going on on the surface of your skin.

Raw African Shea butter is another great private label irritation solution. It can be used on everything from bug bites and burns to rashes and scratches. It has a chemical makeup that makes it extremely therapeutic and healing for virtually all skin issues and irritations. Additionally, due to its thicker texture, it is very protective for skin, so irritations and abrasions are soothed and further environmental irritation is prevented. Shea butter would also make a perfect base to dilute peppermint essential oil in as described above.

Jojoba oil is another private label irritation buster because it is so balancing to the skin. Jojoba is special in that it contains the full spectrum of vitamin E, and is very close in chemical composition to that of human sebum. This makes it very easy for your skin to utilize and absorb the Jojoba. Additionally, Jojoba teaches your skin to produce the right amount of oil for itself, so if you are experiencing chronic dryness or oiliness, Jojoba oil is a great private label skincare oil to use.

Irritated, or just plain irritable skin can be frustrating. Don’t let it get the best of you. With these simple and effective solutions your skin can stay balanced and irritation free. Keep a little bit of the peppermint mixture, Jojoba or Shea butter on hand at all times for when you need a quick solution.
