Sadness is a common plight of the human condition. When something goes wrong, it inevitably triggers emotion. The loss of a job, the death of a loved one, when a dream is lost, or a hope is crumbled, sadness is something we all have to go through. 

 

Whether it is simple sadness over a smaller trouble, or the heart wrenching grief we experience with a death or divorce, some people like to soothe their sadness to some degree with the use of aromatherapy. The brain has a direct link from the olfactory receptors in the nose to a center of the brain responsible for survival and strong emotions. Therefore, using scent for therapy can be helpful in turning negativity around. Consider using aromatherapy to help cope in hard times and the sadness may pass sooner and with fewer ill effects that suffering through it unaided.
