Is your bum ready for swimsuit season? Many of us don't pay much attention to the skin on our behinds until it's time to hit the pool or beach. A little extra care and the right private label skincare products can help you look your best in that swimsuit all summer long. In this blog, Rainshadow Lab's resident esthetician explains what those tiny bumps on your bum are and how to reduce the appearance of unwanted texture.
What Causes Texture On Your Bum?
We need to begin by understanding that the skin on your bum is very different from the skin on your face. The skin on our body is thicker, has smaller pores, and is a lot more resilient than the skin on our face and neck. The unwanted texture on the bum is typically something called folliculitis. Because the skin on your bum is thicker and has smaller pores, when you get an inflamed hair follicle or bump, it does not form a white head. Instead, it causes folliculitis of the hair follicle.
Keeping Your Bum Clear
The good news is that you can clear up the appearance of excess texture on your bum with good home care and private label skincare. Stay consistent and follow these tips to keep your bum happy and clear all summer long!
Step 1. Dry Brush
Before showering, get into the habit of dry brushing your entire body; this will keep your skin looking clear and firm. Perform dry brushing 3-4 times a week before your shower routine.
Step 2. Cleanse
Look for a body wash that contains ingredients like colloidal silver and tea tree oil to use on the problem areas of your body, like your bum and back.
Step 3. Exfoliate
Exfoliating your skin consistently with a gentle exfoliant that contains botanical ingredients like glycolic acid and salicylic acid will help the skin look and feel more balanced and boost the appearance of clarity and glow. Glycolic acid works effectively to gently exfoliate the skin and leaves your skin feeling renewed and refreshed. Do this 2-3 times per week with a product like our private label Glycolic Skin Scrubbing Wash.
This routine is effective for textured areas all over the body. You can practice this routine to show yourself some extra self-care, promote clearer-looking skin, and keep your skin looking and feeling healthy. After exfoliation, remember to hydrate your skin with your favorite private label body butter or lotion!
