Best Essential Oils for Your Pets

young girl with her dogOur animals are nearest to our hearts.  When they get sick or injured, we care for them as if they were ourselves maybe even more precious than our own selves!

But animal care is mysterious territory.  Veterinarians do wonderful, important jobs.  They seem to use a lot of equipment you would find in a regular doctor s office only scaled down for pets.  This is all understandable.  But all the pills and sprays you can put on your little friend- what are all those chemicals? And are they really safe or effective?

In serious cases, you re going to need to give your pet its prescribed medication you don t need to take chances with your loved one.  But in milder instances, skip the synthetic stuff and start treating your pet with Essential Oils.

Essential Oils are gentle yet incredibly potent healing agents.  Because Essential Oils come from plants, they are easily metabolized and therefore very effective even more so than chemical drug counterparts.

When used correctly, Essential Oils will never harm your pets.  Essential Oils will only treat the condition your pet is in and uplift its spirits!

NOTES:

  • For Cats  - do not use Pine or Citrus Oils.  Cat livers cannot metabolize these oils.

  • For Large Dogs (over 100 lbs.)- you can use small, human doses of essential oils.

  • For Medium Dogs (25-50 lbs.) dilute essential oils to 20-50% strength.

  • For Small Dogs (under 20 lbs.) dilute to 70-90% strength.

  • If our Pet Is Sick always use LESS essential oil at first.   Essential Oils will detox your pet s system.  If your pet is already toxic, you need to do the detoxing gently, so use very diluted doses.

  • For Horses Horses love essential oils, but do your research first!

HOW TO USE:

  • For Internal Healing place appropriate dilution of essential oils on your pet s paw.  Essential Oils can easily enter the bloodstream in this manner as they get absorbed through the feet of most mammals.

  • As a Spray dilute the appropriate amount of essential oils in water and spray your furry friend throughout the day.  Great for flea repellent, deodorizing and calming an overactive pet!

  • Shampoo add a few drops of essential oils to castile soap and lather up!  Add water and aloe vera for a more soothing option.

  • Flea collar add diluted amounts of Essential Oils to your pet s collar or to a bandanna that you roll up and tie around their neck.  Be careful with the amounts here because you don t want to irritate their skin.

  • Ear Infections apply diluted to the outside of the ear.  NEVER inside of the ear.

  • Burns or Abscesses apply diluted to the affected area

  • Ticks apply directly on the tick head and wait for the tick to release its grip.
