The Best Skincare Tips & Tricks for Traveling

It may seem like you need to pack just about every skincare product you own during a trip to maintain your beauty routine. Yet when on vacation, it can be hard to stay on top of your skincare regimen. Do you need to bring your whole skincare regimen, or do you go minimal and only take a few products during your trip? Between the dirty air on the plane, lack of sleep, stress, and a change in the climate, our skin often becomes compromised when traveling. Using an effective travel skincare regimen may help reduce those pesky "travel breakouts." Read along for the best travel skincare tips and habits from our resident esthetician.

Wear SPF, even on the plane

The day before the flight, take the time to do your regular at-home skincare regimen and focus on deeply hydrating the skin by using a face cream with botanical hyaluronic acid, plant oils, and drink a lot of water. Make sure to wear sunscreen even on the plane. When you are in the plane, those UV rays can get to you through the windows. Regardless of where you are traveling to, be sure to always wear sunscreen, even on rainy or cloudy days.

Wear minimal makeup

Steer away from heavy foundations and makeup products. It will clog your pores and dry your skin out. Instead, opt for a natural look and use a moisturizing tinted SPF and a lot of lip balm!

Stay away from heavy skincare products

Being away from home doesn't mean you need to intensify your skincare regimen. When traveling, keep your skincare routine minimal instead of using too many products that cause the skin to react unpleasantly. Practicing a minimal routine and using lightweight serums when traveling will help keep your skin happy during your holiday, like our private label hydrating and lightweight ProX Radiance Serum

Your travel skincare check-list from our resident esthetician:

  • A simple gel cleanser with aloe to use for both evening and morning.

  • A lightweight serum with niacinamide and vitamin C to support luminosity and glow (like our private label hydrating and lightweight ProX Radiance Serum!).

  • Sunscreen (SPF 30 or above).

  • For the evening, a hydrating night cream paired with a non-comedogenic facial oil will help to protect your skin's delicate barrier and seal in moisture.
