Itchy leg skin can be maddening. It keeps you up at night, makes regular outings a constant battle to stay focused and just generally makes your days filled with an unnecessary nuisance. Sometimes it’s from simple things like stubby hair growing back after you’ve shaved your legs; when that’s the case, all you can really do is wait for it to pass. But sometimes chronic itchy legs are a sign of something else going on. Thankfully, there are plenty of private label skincare solutions to this super annoying and uncomfortable problem.
Having skin that’s always itchy can be from a lot of different things, and one of the most basic and easy to fix is when your skin itches because it needs more essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are just that—essential. They help keep your cellular membranes healthy and functioning correctly, and they help to keep your skin soft, smooth and moisturized. You can find essential fatty acids in every carrier oil imaginable and depending on the type of skin you have and your individual needs, you might find that one kind of oil works best for you. Some of our favorites include raw Shea butter, Jojoba and Tamanu oil, but that’s really just the beginning. Find the oil that works best for you and stick with it.
Another issue that can cause constant itchy leg skin is dehydration and/or irritation. In this case you want to use something along with your carrier oil that soothes irritation and delivers and holds onto moisture. Some carrier oils do this, but there are other private label skincare ingredients that you can use as well. For example, a few drops of peppermint essential oil does wonders for hot, irritated and itchy skin. Simply mix it in with your oil of choice and use it like you would a lotion.
Other private label skincare ingredients that can help are things like organic Aloe and sometimes even a mineral soak with Epsom Salts. Don’t be afraid to experiment and find what works best for you. Additionally, instead of adding something in, you might want to consider taking something out; are you using any harsh products on your skin like synthetic lotions or body washes with strong detergents? You might be surprised at what a relief you can experience from cutting products like that out.
Though frustrating, itchy legs can actually be really easy to soothe. With a high quality carrier oil and maybe some peppermint, you can experience relief. Remember to take inventory of any potentially irritating skincare products as well and throw those guys out.
